Start The Day at Reba Sear
Every great adventure begins with a good brew. Tom recommends kicking off your day at Reba Sear, a central cafe located in the heart of Huonville. With its great atmosphere and friendly service, it’s the perfect place to fuel up for the day ahead, not to mention the attached gift store that often showcases local artworks and products.
Hike the Mountain River Trail
For those who love the great outdoors, the Mountain River Trail is a must. Starting at Mountain River, this trail can be as long or short as you like, connecting all the way up to Collins Bonnet and eventually leading you all the way to Mount Wellington. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking for a scenic stroll, this trail offers excellent views along the way and a chance to slow down and appreciate this special part of the world.
Take a Dip in Mountain River
If the hike has you thinking about cooling off, there’s nothing quite like a refreshing dip in the water. Tom’s top spot for swimming is Mountain River, where you’ll find plenty of hidden nooks along the riverbank. It’s also a fantastic spot for fly fishing if you’re looking for a more relaxed afternoon activity.
